Thank you for using Yamaha products.

AW4416 MIDI Remote Template for the 01V

How to install
This scene memory data is stored in a MIDI file as bulk system exclusive message data. Uncompress the downloaded MIDI file and load it into a MIDI sequencer. Then play back the file from the MIDI sequencer to send the data to the AW4416. See Version 2.0 Supplement manual for details on receiving bulk data transfers. Some MIDI sequencers may not be able to handle system exclusive messages or may limit the size of these messages. If you have trouble sending the data to the AW4416's scene memory, check the specifications of your MIDI sequencer to see if it is capable of handling system exclusive messages.

Overview
Using this template allows remote control over the 01V mixer's input/output levels and ON/OFF status for channels 1-12, 13/14, 15/16, and 17-24, Effect Returns 1&2, and the Stereo Out.

Main features
This template makes it possible to remotely control the 01V's input/output levels and ON/OFF status for channels 1-12, 13/14, 15/16, and 17-24, Effect Returns 1&2, and the Stereo Out. The control data can be recorded into the AW4416 for automated control over these parameters.

Features in detail
The faders of remote banks A, B control the input/output levels of the 01V's channels 1-12, 13/14, 15/16, and 17-24, Effect Returns 1 & 2, and Stereo Out. The ON/OFF switch of remote banks A, B, C, and D (D is assigned to channel 8 only) are assigned to the 01V's channels 1-12, 13/14, 15/16, and 17-24, Effect Returns 1 & 2, and Stereo Out.

How to use
1. Using a MIDI sequencer, send the 01V control change assign data (01V.mid) to the 01V. While the data is being transmitted, press the MIDI key on the 01V to call up the MIDI Setup page and set BULK to ON.

2. Using a MIDI cable, connect the AW4416's MIDI OUT/THRU jack to the 01V's MIDI IN jack. Press the MIDI key on the 01V to call up the MIDI Setup page and set Control Change RX to ON.

3. Set the MIDI channel of the 01V to the same MIDI channel as the AW4416.

4. Set the Port to MIDI.

5. Press MIDI key and select "MIDI"from MIDI/HOST/OPTION in the MIDI Set up 2 screen.

Note: You should limit the MIDI equipment connected to the AW4416's MIDI OUT/THRU jack to only one 01V. MIDI remote control makes extensive use of channel messages, so it is possible that it may inadvertently control other connected equipment.
