The Coimbatore Club Lounge – Delivering Crystal-Clear Sound with NEXO Audio Solution

At The Coimbatore Club, one of India’s most prestigious legacy institutions, the expectation for quality extends across every aspect of the member experience including sound.

With a heritage spanning over 150 years, the club continues to evolve its facilities to meet modern standards while preserving its refined character. For its lounge space, the objective was clear: deliver crystal-clear, soothing audio that enhances the environment without overwhelming it.

Working in collaboration with The Coimbatore Club and system integrator Vertex Inc, a high-performance NEXO (Yamaha Group) audio solution was deployed to achieve exceptional clarity, control, and seamless integration within the space.

The Challenge

Upgrading the lounge audio system required balancing performance, aesthetics, and budget - all while competing against leading global audio brands.

The environment included architectural elements such as glass surfaces, which can reflect low frequencies and affect sound clarity. The goal was to deliver:

• Even sound coverage across the lounge
• High speech intelligibility
• Controlled low-frequency response

At the same time, the system needed to blend into the interior design and provide a premium listening experience for members.

Adding to the complexity, multiple international brands were evaluated before the final selection, making performance and demonstration critical to the decision-making process.

The Solution

To address these challenges, a compact yet powerful NEXO Series was carefully designed and deployed.

The installation features:

• NEXO ID24 compact loudspeakers, flown strategically to achieve optimal coverage
• NEXO IDS110 subwoofers, configured in a gradient array to control low-frequency dispersion
• NEXO nanoNXAMP4, ensuring consistent power delivery and system efficiency

This configuration allows for precise directivity and uniform tonal balance throughout the lounge. By flying the ID24 speakers, sound is delivered evenly across the listening area, minimizing dead zones and ensuring clarity at all positions.

Low-frequency performance was enhanced using a gradient subwoofer arrangement, specifically designed to reduce bass spill onto reflective surfaces such as rear glass panels. This approach results in tighter, cleaner bass while maintaining overall balance.

The system was also tuned to deliver a natural and immersive sound profile, ensuring that music and ambient audio complement the space rather than dominate it.

The final installation delivers a marked improvement in both clarity and listening experience.
