Taste of Happiness - Vietnamese Diners Relax With Yamaha BackGround Music
As well as great food, every successful restaurant needs an appealing atmosphere. With the sound of the space just as important as the appearance, two very different pizza restaurants in the Vietnamese capital Hanoi have chosen Yamaha background music systems.
THE CHALLENGE
Established in 2011, Pizza 4P’s has 31 restaurants in Vietnam, two in Cambodia and one each in Japan and India, and specialises in a range of European-style foods. Recently it has refurbished and updating two branches in the Vietnamese capital Hanoi, which included installing new audio systems.
The branch in the city’s central Ha Dong shopping centre is unusually styled like a cave, offering diners an experience which is unique in Vietnam and possibly much of Asia. The walls look like they are carved from solid rock, with textures and plants to give diners the feeling of being truly underground.
Meanwhile, the restaurant in Trang Tien Plaza has been extensively refurbished with a cool industrial vibe, which features an open kitchen where diners can watch the restaurant’s chefs carefully crafting their food. The restaurant is divided into several different dining areas on two floors, larger spaces complemented by smaller rooms with the capacity for up to five or six diners.
THE SOLUTION
Hanoi-based dealer and systems integrator Quy Thành Music was asked to specify and install high quality background music systems in both restaurants, to complement the different interior designs with an appealing soundtrack and create the perfect balance between taste, visual and sound experiences.
At the cave-themed Ha Dong restaurant, Yamaha’s compact VXS1M full range, surface mount speakers are distributed throughout the dining area, their small size ensuring that attention is not taken away from the unusual, eye-catching décor. These are complemented with compact, ceiling-hung VXS3SB subwoofers, with the system driven by MA2030a power amplifiers.
Meanwhile, at the restaurant in Trang Tien Plaza, Yamaha VS4 full range, surface mount speakers with XMV4140-D power amplifiers deliver tightly-controlled sound, with seamless coverage and equal quality in all the different-sized dining areas. The system is managed by an MTX3 matrix processor, controlled by a DCP1V4S surface mount controller.
“The client asked us to deliver a sound experience for customers which would be visually neat, tasteful and not distract their attention from the carefully-crafted interior design,” says a consultant at Quy Thành Music. “Of course, the sound needed to be clear, high quality and with precise coverage to deliver a soothing, atmospheric and relaxing dining experience.”
