Yamaha Teens Rock is more than just a competition; it’s a nationwide platform for young bands from Academic Schools and Music Academies across India to showcase their talent, perform live, and experience the thrill of the stage.

Open to performers aged 18 years and below, the platform celebrates the passion, creativity, and energy of the next generation of musicians.

We believe in the power of music to unite and inspire emerging artists. From the first chord to the final encore, Yamaha provides the instruments, the platform, and the spotlight your band deserves.

HOW TO PARTICIPATE?

  • Each eligible band must first register on https://teensrock.in/

    NOTE: Registrations are permitted only through recognized Schools / Academic Institutions / Music Academies and not from individual participants.

    Band Size: Each participating band must consist of a minimum of 3 members and a maximum of 6 members.

    Each participating band must perform two (2) songs consisting of:

    A) One from a given set list of Trinity Rock & Pop syllabus songs – rearranged:

    • STAIRWAY TO HEAVEN – Led Zeppelin (Grade 8 Vocals)
    • SMELLS LIKE TEEN SPIRIT – Nirvana (Grade 4 Guitar & Bass, Grade 6 Drums)
    • FIRE – Jimi Hendrix (Grade 8 Drums)
    • BLACK NIGHT – Deep Purple (Grade 3 Guitar)
    • ROPE – Foo Fighters (Grade 6 Guitar, Grade 7 Drums)
    • SWEET CHILD O’ MINE – Guns N’ Roses (Grade 8 Guitar)
    • SIR DUKE – Stevie Wonder (Grade 5 Drums)
    • THE TROOPER – Iron Maiden (Grade 8 Guitar, Grade 7 Drums)
    • JUMP – Van Halen (Grade 7 Keyboards, Grade 4 Drums)
    • PINBALL WIZARD – The Who & Elton John (Grade 8 Keyboards)
    • IF I AIN’T GOT YOU – Alicia Keys (Grade 5 Keyboards, Grade 7Vocals)
    • BILLIE JEAN – Michael Jackson (Grade 7 Vocals, Grade 1 Bass Drums)
    • WAKE ME UP BEFORE YOU GO – Wham (Grade 8 Vocals)
    • TAKE ME TO CHURCH – Hozier (Grade 6 Vocals, Grade 5 Keyboards)
    • SLEDGEHAMMER – Peter Gabriel (Grade 4 Bass)

    B) ONE OWN CHOICE SONG – rearranged (should be bands original version)

    Performance duration should not exceed ten (10) minutes and must be uploaded on https://teensrock.in/ by the participating band after or during registration.

  • RECORDING GUIDELINES

    All recorded submissions must be performed and recorded in one continuous take without editing, overdubbing, pre-recording or any backing track, pitch correction, synchronization adjustments, or post-production enhancement of any kind (both song performance is to be recorded in a single take and the video must not be edited in any way and not exceed the duration of 10 minutes).

    Yamaha Music India reserves the right to request raw footage, additional recordings, live verification, or supporting evidence to verify authenticity of submissions. Failure to comply may result in immediate disqualification.

  • JUDGING & EVALUATION

    • Entries shall be evaluated based on following criteria:
    • Technical Facility
    • Ensemble Coordination & Sound Balance
    • Interpretation & Creativity
    • Stage Presence & Communication
    • (Includes overall presentation and costuming)

    The decision of Yamaha Music India and the appointed judging panel by Trinity College London shall be final, binding, and non-contestable.
