Design your system first; expand the I/O later
Yamaha's guiding principle in live sound design has always been to capture the genuine sound of the stage and only then to color it with successive layers of audio processing. Staying true to this principle, the RUio16FLX-D is a flexible, Dante-compatible I/O rack that gives you the freedom to select 16 I/O channels from analog inputs, analog outputs, and AES/EBU outputs, providing an optimal solution for designing systems where the I/O configuration may change or exact requirements have not yet been determined. When you need to just add a few more channels or to route an AES/EBU output to a specific location, this reliable I/O box provides and simple, effective solution. It is a worthy addition to any professional audio system.
Features
Flexibility to handle any change
When working with the RUio16FLX-D, you can freely select and combine 16 I/O channels from analog in, analog out, and AES/EBU out. Sources can be selected in two-channel groups, so each unit can handle three sources simultaneously. Despite fitting into a 1U chassis, this compact I/O box is the perfect fit for a great many applications, particularly when additional input or output channels may be needed in the future.
Port Config for easy setting
Using the Port Config menu from the built-in display on the RUio16FLX-D, you can easily change the unit’s I/O setup.
Check and set parameters right away with the onboard display
Use the built-in mini-LCD screen to conveniently check and set Dante and input/output parameters directly—no need to connect to a mixing console or PC. And in the event of an error, the unit's keys and LEDs light up so you can take action with a minimum of delay.
Dante-enabled for flexible system design
Audinate’s Dante network protocol offers unrivalled flexibility in system setup and configuration, and gives you the freedom to assemble almost any combination of devices to suit your needs and physically locate them wherever you find most convenient. As if that weren’t enough, Dante also features built-in redundancy to keep your system operating even if a problem were to occur.
Effortless control from Yamaha consoles and processors
With your RUio16FLX-D connected via Dante to Yamaha digital mixing consoles and other audio processors, managing patching and I/O parameters is simple. When connected to a mixing console, the stagebox can be mounted as a Dante device, allowing you to remotely control HA gain and other parameters. Meanwhile, when connected to a processor, parameters can be controlled using our ProVisionaire Design application.
Use anywhere with R-Remote
Also compatible with the R Remote control app for Yamaha I/O products, the RUio16FLX-D can be used as a lightweight, compact Dante interface with R Remote controlling HA gain and other parameters, for recording and other applications where a mixing desk is not needed.
Special port for dedicated control within huge setups
The RUio16FLX-D lets you set a dedicated network address for reliable control even when part of a large system. In other words, you can set up a dependable control system without affecting the Dante network.
A solid foundation for inspirational live sound
More than just compact and portable, the RUio16FLX-D also inherits Yamaha's time-honored tradition of staying true to the real sound, just like the RPio622/222 and Rio3224-D3/1608-D3 before it. This stagebox has been designed and built to capture the stage sound in all its glory and deliver to the mixing console pure.
